Co-Founder and Executive Director, Ortus Mining Capital

Grant has founded, co-founded and acquired a range of businesses predominantly across the mining and mineral exploration industries that deliver win/win outcomes for business partners, shareholders and our teams in Australia, Singapore and Canada. He is passionate about business and excited to partner with likeminded clients or partners on opportunities across the exploration and mining operations lifecycle.

He co-founded One Key Resources, a large mining services business in Australia in 2010 and in 2016 sold the business to an international private equity backed group.  Grant also co-founded MPX with Simon Cohn and sits as a board director of E79 Resources (CSE:ESNR).

In 2020, grant established the MWG Mining group which includes the Mining Pro, Tonnes+ and IMS businesses in Australia providing a range of owners team and mining services solutions for major mining houses across a range of commodities.

Grant also enjoys numerous other roles as director, advisory board member or active investor in several other businesses in Singapore, Canada and Australia.  

Simon Cohn

Co-Founder and Executive Director, Ortus Mining Capital

In his advisory roles as Non-Executive Director, Simon draws on a wealth of leadership, professionalism, passion and knowledge built up over 19 years’ experience in the natural resources sector.

A dynamic and astute mining executive, Simon has been Managing Director at MEC Mining since 2011, and took on the role of Non-Executive Director in 2017.

His extensive experience in the mining industry includes roles working across a wide range of open-cut and underground metalliferous and coal mines throughout Australia and overseas. Simon is a board member of Q2 Metals Corp. who are advancing the MIA Lithium project in Quebec (TSXV:QTWO).

Simon is passionate about engaged, inspired leadership and in his Non-Executive Director roles he coaches and mentors senior leadership teams. He strongly believes in building a unified team whose members are empowered to act autonomously while sharing a common goal and prioritises robust partnerships with clients, other businesses and employees.
